You have been through alot and made it! What a beauty was Bucksnort! We live in Holland europe and we also have an english basset of 4 years old, James! My husband gave him to me as a x-mas present after my mom died and I fell in love the moment I saw him. Luckily he is still young and healthy besides an occasional earinfection and also with the help of a great vet we are able to keep him happy and healthy. I do recgonize the loving feeling of the bassethound, always happy to see you, good listener! funny! and in my hometown almost everybody knows him, I take him for walks downtown and people are greeting him before me. As a registed nurse I am working in a home for disabled people and I take him with me to work sometimes and the people love him, somehow he is able to get things done that we humans can't do! I have had dogs before and every dog has a special place in my heart and I understand how important Bucksnort is to you and your family, I wish you all the strenght and good luck with everything, greetings from Holland, Janneke...and a hug from James..
